Yellow, Green and Brown Baby Shower

This cake was near and dear to my heart because we made it for our cousin's baby shower in August.

Though they were having a girl, they wanted to keep the colors of the shower neutral.
We worked with browns, yellows and soft greens.

On top of the cake are a pair of baby booties made out of gumpaste.

The cake flavors were red velvet and french vanilla with vanilla swiss meringue buttercream :)

Congratulations to the new parents!

Butterflies and ladybugs! :o)

Back in August, we were asked by Kim to make a 2-tier cake for her daughter Kayla's 1st birthday. The theme was butterflies and ladybugs :) She sent us an inspiration picture to work from.

We loved making this cake because we got to add little fun, playful butterflies, ladybugs and flowers around the cake!
One of my favorite parts of this cake was the smiling butterfly fondant topper!
The bottom tier of this cake was red velvet with cream cheese filling and the top tier was a chocolate cake with raspberry filling.
We were also asked to make a small butterfly-shaped smash cake for Kayla.

The flavor of the smash cake was pink velvet with banana cream and white chocolate ganache.

Happy Birthday Kayla!

Sleeping Beauty Princess cake

Natasha reached out to us to create a Sleeping Beauty cake for her daughter Sam's princess birthday party! One of our favorite things to do are princess cakes because, secretly, we get to be kids again! :o)

Natasha provided us with  a few pictures for inspiration as well as a picture of Sam's Sleeping Beauty doll and naturally we immediately decided to make a cake inspired by her doll!

Sam's doll

The cake was a pink velvet cake.

We also created cupcakes for the party. Cupcake flavors were chocolate with pink vanilla swiss meringue buttercream icing. The cupcakes were topped with edible princess hearts and crowns.

The look on Sam's face when she saw the cake was priceless! I mean priceless! It's moments like these that warm our hearts!

Natasha blogged about Sam's party here. We were honored to receive an amazing review from Natasha! Check out her blog here!

Happy Birthday Sam!
